Weekend with family in Poznań
As our guests say, "Poznań explores itself," but we will help you a little
presenting popular attractions that you must visit with your family.
Of course, we start the day with a hearty breakfast in the restaurant, where delicious dishes await the little ones, created with our youngest guests in mind.
Many products at the breakfast buffet come from our smokehouse: cold cuts, fish, cheese.
Our Chefs also bake their own bread, which has already won guests' hearts. For the youngest, we have prepared a corner with coloring books and crayons, so parents can have a moment to themselves
to enjoy aromatic coffee after breakfast.
Palm House and Wilson Park
We suggest starting the day of sightseeing with a visit to Wilson Park,
which is located just 1 km from our property. There are ponds, artificial hills, an alpine garden, and the Palm House - the largest in the country and one of the largest in Europe exhibiting exotic
plants and fish. The park also features the Wilson monument created in 1928 by sculptor
Zofia Trzcińska-Kamińska.
Poznań Town Hall
and billy goats
At 12:00 we offer you the main attraction of the city. At the Old Market, on the town hall tower, you can watch the show of the butting goats and listen to the trumpeter. You can get there by tram - the stop is located right next to
Wilson Park from Głogowska Street.
And with our Poznań billy goats is connected an interesting legend:
"On a certain September day in 1551, a special celebration was to take place in Poznań. A clock, designed and handcrafted by Master Bartłomiej Wolf from Gubin, was to be placed on the tower of the Poznań city hall. The best chefs prepared perfectly seasoned, beautifully decorated
and the most sumptuous dishes. The chef responsible for delicacies for the voivode himself was Gąska. Meanwhile, the sound of trumpets announced the arrival of the voivode. It was a special occasion, and Gąska, as the head chef, personally wanted to see the approaching procession and welcome the distinguished host. He called his assistant – the kitchen boy Pietrek, to watch over everything during his absence. Unfortunately, he dropped the spit, which, along with its entire contents, fell into the fire. The meat quickly burned to coal! Pietrek ran to the butchers to buy a new piece of meat. Unfortunately, all the stalls were closed. The despondent boy was about to return empty-handed. However, behind one of the tenement houses, he saw two white tails. What a coincidence! A smile like a crescent appeared on Pietrek's freckled face. The animals, as soon as they felt the boy pulling them by the halters, as if on command, reared up with their hooves and charged at the kitchen boy
with their horns. They galloped at full speed. Finally, they ran into the town hall, ran over the beautifully set tables, and climbed up the tower. When the voivode looked up to see the clock, two white heads of the billy goats appeared in a small window, butting each other fiercely. To commemorate this event,
Croissant Museum
At the Old Market, you must visit the
Rogala Museum. The demonstrations are held interactively, meaning that at the beginning of the show, volunteers sign up to help with the individual tasks. The demonstration is universal in nature, aimed at all age groups (best suited for children over 3 years old) and tries to engage the audience in various ways. It is important to arrive at the museum 10 minutes before the start of the demonstration. This time is needed to take seats and prepare for the activities.
New Zoo, Malta Lake, Maltanka
From the Old Market Square, you can head to another amazing attraction. Lake Malta, which is a huge recreational center with great infrastructure, will delight both adults and children. Playgrounds, a ski slope, the Pyrlandia rope park, one of the most fun water parks
in Poland, bike and walking paths - these are just some of the attractions of this unique place. We can get to the new Zoo by the narrow-gauge train "Maltanka." On the 4-kilometer route, you can admire the lake and other attractions of Malta, get to the Malta Thermal Baths or the Zoo, which is the last stop on the route.
Poznań Gate – Ichot
Located in the oldest part of the city, on the Cybina River,
in the vicinity of the cathedral island - a few steps from the Old Market Square. The Poznań Gate ICHOT exhibition is a multimedia story
about the history and heritage of Ostrów Tumski. In the following rooms, you can see, hear, and learn about the more than thousand-year history of Poznań Island. Children receive audio guides that allow them to follow their own paths. The exhibitions feature special "smiley" buttons, which, when pressed, let children listen to the story of the respective exhibition.
